| Scott Porter |
Middle School PastorScott Porter came to Beavercreek to continue his military career as the Flight Chief of the Airman Leadership School at WPAFB. Truth be told, Scott and his family truly wanted to continue their spiritual walk under the direction of Pastor Keven. Coming to the area from San Antonio where they attended Pastor Keven's former church, the Porter family eagerly began attending BCN in February 2003. One year later, Scott was approached (and coaxed) to be a part of a newly formed Middle School ministry. Scott began teaching and speaking on Wednesday nights. As time passed, he began joining the middle schoolers on trips and chaperoning activities. While Scott preferred his role as an adult Christian education leader, he was slowly warming to the idea of working with the 6th - 8th graders and that still small voice of God was continuing to ring in his ear and play on his heart. In March 2006, Scott was promoted at WPAFB which would mean an eventual move. Not wanting to leave BCN and the teens, he accepted a part-time position at BCN to oversee Riptide. He retired from the Air Force in August 2006 and enthusiastically accepted God's call on his life to be the Middle School Pastor. Scott is passionate about teens! His prayerful desire is to help young teens know that they are capable of doing anything they set their minds to (...for nothing is impossible with God). His greatest reason for working with this energetic, dynamic bunch is that he enjoys learning from them. Each day he learns how to be open and moldable. Scott and his wife, Tammy, have four children, Ashley, Travis, Cassie, and Katie. Contact Pastor Scott by clicking here. |
